The targets used in this test are as follows;
Test 1. One kilogram of copper, bronze and silver coins in a tight as small as
possible volume buried under normal compact soil at depth 24" (60cm)
Test 2. English silver six pence coin 18 mm.(equal to a average Roman silver
dinar) buried under normal compact soil at depth 11" (28cm).
Test 3. English Victorian copper penny 30 mm.(equal to a Roman sesterci)
under normal compact soil at depth 14" (36 cm).

RESULTS:
Nexus Ultima with dual 20" Ultima search coil.
Test 1
- Strong signal at minimum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
Test 2 - No signal.
Test 3 - Good signal at minimum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
Nexus Standard SE with dual 9" SE Standard search coil.
Test 1
- No signal.
Test 2 - Good signal at minimum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
Test 3 - Good signal at minimum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
Nexus Standard SE with dual 4" Nexus Gold search coil.
Test 1
- No signal.
Test 2 - Good signal at maximum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
Test 3 - Good signal at maximum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
Nexus Coronado with dual 6" Coronado Silver search coil.
Test 1
- No signal.
Test 2 - Good signal at maximum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
Test 3 - Good signal at maximum sensitivity and in Iron Rejection Mode.
The coins used in Test 2 and Test 3 are
attached to a strip of wood, then plunged
into the compact soil 8" (20cm) in a hole
drilled in advance. That hole is made
parallel to the ground surface at depth as
mentioned above in
Test 2 - 11" (28cm)
and
Test 3 - 14" (36cm).
