Pathfinder V3 PRO features
The Pathfinder V3 Pro is a more feature rich version of the V3.
V3 PRO Additional features:
- Added ground balance circuits that can be completely disabled.
- All metal mode (VCO off).
- Multi-turn dials with added finer adjustment by a factor of 6 times, so that the Threshold and Meter Balance are now adjusted by a 60 turns resolution as opposed of 10 turns on the standard V3 version.
This is extremely helpful in setting the detector faster. The added bigger multi-turn knobs also do not have any back lash what so ever, so that where ever they are adjusted to, they stay there. The 10 turn knobs used on the V3 and available on the market today all have some back lash up to 2 degrees or so. This can make it tricky to adjust to the finest point.
The 60 turns adjustment becomes possible only after an extensive manual remake of the potentiometers and the multi-turn knobs as these kinds of analogue devices do not exist anywhere on the market to just buy them.
The depth performance is the same although in all metal mode the V3 Pro could be pushed to higher sensitivity levels.
The added ground balance of the V3 PRO helps to handle the detector better in complex terrain and it is used to alter the detector's sensitivity to Iron in it's various sizes. The use of ground balance will always inhibit some of the sensitivity to non-ferrous, but in certain situations it is useful for more stable performance.
Upgrade from the V3 version to V3 PRO can happen only by changing the control box completely because the internal structure of V3 Pro is very different.
