The name Nexus was first announced to the metal detecting industry in October 2004 by
introducing the first Nexus metal detector called Nexus Standard.
The idea behind this name was created from the very principal of operation upon which the
Nexus Standard is based. Nexus is a word derived from Latin, which literally means "to bind".
There are several definitions for Nexus most popular of which is - A means of connection, link
or a tie.
Also the name Nexus Standard that the first of all Nexus metal detectors sets the performance
standards for all Nexus products in the future. Nexus Standard is to be the first, but all rival metal
detector models are to be better.
The first Nexus Standard metal detector was based on the idea that the detector user and the
metal detector in use (the Nexus) would work together for a common goal, discovering the lost
treasures. The capabilities of the metal detector, the natural human senses and experience
linked together would produce the ultimate results in search for lost treasures. At the end of
2006 the Nexus Standard was replaced by its rival the Nexus Standard SE, pictured above. In
September 2006 the Nexus Ultima metal detector was introduced.With its huge dual 20" search
coil, Nexus Ultima became the most powerful hand held metal detector ever made. In the
beginning of 2007 the Nexus Coronado was introduced as entry level model in the Nexus metal
detectors range.
All Nexus metal detectors are induction balance fully tuned in electro - magnetic resonance.
This fact and the original unprecedented search coil design have made the Nexus metal
